The traditional leaving certificate is a two year course where students study three core subjects and four optional subjects. The core subjects are:

3. Mathematics
The optional subjects from which students choose four are:
1. History
2. Geography
3. Biology
4. Chemistry
5. Physics
6. Agricultural Science
7. Business
8. Accounting
9. Economics
10. Art
11. French
12. German
13. Engineering
14. Construction Studies
15. Design and Communication Graphics
16. Technology
17. Computer Science
In addition to these subjects students also study Religion and P.E. as non examination subjects. Guidance and R.S.E. are also provided within the Religion timetable.
