Welcome to our school.

We have had a great start to life in the CBS and have had a number of events and activities taking place that many of our first years will have been involved. Here is a brief summary!

Carol Service

Before we all knuckled down to the hard task of exams, Ms Shalloe and a group of first years came together to treat us to a wonderful afternoon of carols and poems. It was amazing to see the hard work, talent and confidence of the many students who took part. Well done to all!

Film Morning

To acknowledge the great work and excellent behaviour of our first years since September, a film morning was organised. Parents and students kindly sent in baked goods. Meitheal leaders, Ms Boyce and her TY class, organised the film and collected a donation for the Irish wheelchair association. There was a great Christmas atmosphere on the day. Thanks to all who participated.

Meitheal

The Meitheal leaders have had a big role to play in helping first-year students settle happily into CBS life. They helped out on your sons very first day; they met them in the mornings before school for the first number of weeks to give them advice and answer questions. They have played games, dispelled any worries and have been a great support to the first years in general. They were recently recognised for their work at a ceremony in Wexford County Hall where they received awards for Meitheal. Meitheal leaders still work with the first years and continue to help them daily.

Study Morning

Exams can be stressful, so a study morning was organised for each class to give them exam information, tips and timetables before their exams. This allowed students to get organised and approach the exam,s with confidence. Using these tips and study plans will help students to achieve in the future, and give them great ownership of their own learning.

Hurling

Mr Coleman, Mr T Walsh, Mr P Doyle and Ms Y Doyle have a great bunch of very eager hurlers who are through already through to a Leinster semi-final! They have had some great days out playing together, training together and doing match analysis in-between! We have the trophy cabinet dusted off and ready for the big win!

Soccer

Mr Galway and Mr Dolye took charge of the soccer stars this year. They took part in a number of competitions, and some were very close. The team worked well together and showed great determination and teamwork in their efforts. Well done to all players and coaches.

Basketball

Ms Potter and Ms H Murray have introduced Basketball for first years and its proving to be a big success! They have played their first match in recent weeks, and it looks like we have another committed group of sportsmen dedicated to the cause!

Diary

The School Diary is one the most effective tools of communication between Teachers and parents/guardians. It also is a great way to stay in touch with what's happening in your son’s school life. We encourage parents/guardians to read and check the diary every week, sign any notes and communicate with Teachers as the need arises through the Diary.
